Our David Tepke, PE, SE reporting on another successful ACI Convention:
Another great American Concrete Institute (ACI) Convention in Toronto. Congratulations to staff and all that organized the event. The city and people were great. As always, I learned from experts, benefited from many viewpoints, spent time with old friends, and made new friends. Too many people to mention, but thanks to all that made the convention well worth the trip.
Congratulations to Kendon Gann of NC State University (faculty nominator: Dr. Rudolf (Rudi) Seracino ) and Rashid Alwashahi of Clemson University (faculty nominator: Dr. Amir Poursaee) for receiving SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc. Kennerly Education Initiative sponsorships to the conference, and thanks to all that took time to talk with them.
Thanks also to everyone that attended and participated in the special corrosion sessions honoring Dr. Carolyn Hansson (arranged by Burkan Isgor), the Corrosion Committee 222 Meeting and the Codes and Standards, Advocacy and Outreach (CSAO) Committee Meeting. Your contributions are important, and I appreciate your participation.
Finally, congratulations to Michael Paul for a great year as President, Dr. Maria Juenger for becoming new President, and to others that received honors, assumed leadership roles, or made the leap to get involved in committee activities. Special recognition to Dr. Carolyn Hansson, Dr. Doug Hooton and others that were honored with special sessions. It speaks to their dedication, and I have personally benefited from their expertise and wisdom.
