Charleston County Courthouse is located in the historic downtown district and was constructed in the late 1750’s. Stucco and coating distress had worsened based on suspected water intrusion. SKA was engaged to develop an evaluation plan to evaluate moisture issues and distress to design coating and stucco repairs which included a facade evaluation to address potential loose stucco. SKA prepared a plan and coordinated efforts through BAR approval and conducted the evaluation through a current contract in the interest of developing repairs, and developed repairs to preserve this important structure. SKA provided construction administration and field observation managing the repair process to ensure proper insulation from water intrusion.
