  4. David Tepke gives Clemson University Lecture

David Tepke, PE always takes great pleasure visiting Clemson University and talking with the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering students. “Special thanks to Dr. Prasad Rangaraju for the invitation to visit his Repair and Rehabilitation of Concrete Structures class and to the graduate and undergraduate students that attended the Principles in Practice lecture last week.” The lecture focused on the ACI 562 Concrete Assessment, Repair & Rehabilitation Code with materials-based examples, and included perspective on the role of codes in the industry. “It was great to see former SKA KEI sponsorship winner, Rashid Alwashahi, and other familiar faces from previous visits.”
“As fun as the lecture was, I most enjoyed the conversation with Dr Rangaraju and students afterwards. With billions of dollars spent each month in the United States repairing and preserving our vast and expanding inventory of existing concrete structures, it is imperative that we embrace awareness and education at the university level. Congratulations to Clemson for having a progressive curriculum that includes courses devoted to concrete rehabilitation and corrosion.
Also, thanks to Dale A. Regnier, Jr., CAE, FICRI and Matthew Carter from International Concrete Repair Institute – (ICRI) and Kanette Worlds, CAE from American Concrete Institute (ACI) for providing concrete repair bulletin magazines and notebooks as handouts for the students, and to SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc. for supporting the dissemination of practice related information to the next generation.”
