SKA teamed with a local architect on PTIA south concourse renovation which included MEP upgrades. The scope of the project included terminal ceiling renovations which involved removing existing ductwork, adding in fabric ductwork, redoing the fire protection system with a new sprinkler layout, relocating plumbing pipes, lighting and speaker recommendations and plumbing and FP system upgrades. Lighting was changed to LED lights which can change colors for holidays or mood lighting.
The recent chiller replacement project involved a new 500-ton centrifugal chiller includes a magnetic bearing compressor with oil-free technology. With this latest enhancement, PTIA can currently provide a total of 1150 tons of building cooling load.
SKA has worked on over 100 projects at PTIA, some of which include: Comair Maintenance Hangar, North Concourse Renovation, Hertz Rental Car Relocation, Cessna Fuel Farm Replacement, Engineering Office upfit, North Concourse Jet Bridges design, Mingo Hanager Fuel Tank Foundation and Causey Aviation Hangar office design.
