SKA is providing building envelope consulting services for the Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital Addition that is being constructed in Summerville, SC. The purpose of SKA services will be to perform building envelope commissioning services prior to and during construction in order to aid in preventing moisture intrusion into the building. The project includes construction of a large addition/expansion to the existing hospital which is 271,445 sf addition/expansion consisting of a one-story critical space addition, four-story hospital expansion, a four-story medical office building, and a connector bridge. The new additions will be tied-in with existing facility in numerous locations. The addition/expansion will involve doubling the number of hospital beds from 50 to 100. SKA has been retained as the Building Envelope Consultant for the Architect and for the Owner, performing different scopes of each.
