SKA joined with several consultants to provide a comprehensive property condition report for Guilford County Schools on the 1928 Lindley Elementary School. The assessment involved assessing the following: structural systems, building envelope systems, mechanical systems, hazardous materials, safety and code compliance, security concerns and educational adequacy. The report detailed that the building structure was not sound with low thermal resistance and failing moisture control. The report detailed that all building systems would need to be replaced, and the finishes were failing and contained hazardous materials. The report justified the cost to rebuild would be much less than the cost to renovate and add square footage. Additionally, the timeline for rebuilding would be the same as the project timeline for renovation and addition.
