SKA has provided all of the structural engineering design services for the Greensboro Coliseum for the past 50 years. The projects have ranged widely in type and size from minor maintenance improvements to major renovations such as the 1993 expansion and the recent Upper concourse expansion project. The Upper Concourse Expansion and Arena Enhancement project expanded the upper concourse by 15 feet around the entire perimeter, added a significant amount of restroom facilities, improved site lines within the arena and accomplished approximately 17 million dollars of construction while never missing or impacting an event. SKA’s talented MEP group came alongside structural to complete this renovation with a scope of adding 100 bathroom fixtures to the upper concourse, replacing upper concourse seating, enhancing suites and expanding concession areas.
